Vol. I: The Living and the Dead, pages 1-442; Vol. II: The Living and the Living Dead, pages 443-766 (printed on recto only). 11x8½, blue paper wrappers, each bound with "Acco" metal strip, typed paper cover labels, title and page numbers inked on the spines, custom plexi-glass slipcase with typed paper spine label. Xerox Typescript of the First Revised Draft.
Both volumes signed and inscribed by Koontz on the title page. Volume I: "To Art Stone - This is the revised submission draft including cutting of 34 pages per editorial suggestions. They insisted I cut 350 pages - but I thought that 10% of their requests was as much as deserved serious consideration! (They were not happy.) Best wishes, Dean R. Koontz, 2/5/86." Volume II: "See first volume for explanation - and for a hint of the author's rage. Best, Dean R. Koontz."
