Oddkins eBook

August 16, 2012

Looks like Oddkins is coming out at an eBook on September 4th. (So far I can only find a listing for the Kindle version.)
This might also be a good place to mention that the Collector’s Guide will not be including eBook editions unless they’re somehow unique. For example the recent “eBook only” originals such as Odd Interlude.

Archiving the Odd Apocalypse countdown widget

August 15, 2012

Since Odd Apocalypse is now out there’s no reason to have it in the sidebar anymore. So, I’m putting it in this post for archival purposes.

Frankenstein by Mary Shelley

August 14, 2012

Received my lettered edition of King’s Way Press’ Frankenstein yesterday and it’s gorgeous. For those wondering why I’m posting this here, Dean wrote the introduction to this edition.

Dean Interviews Odd

August 7, 2012

In one of the stranger online items I’ve seen relating to the release of Odd Apocalypse, The Literary Guild has an “exclusive interview” with Odd Thomas done by Dean himself. To find it head on over to The Literary Guild’s Odd Apocalypse page and click on the “Exclusive Interview” link.

Found: Page count for the ARC of Odd Is On Our Side

August 4, 2012

Just found out there was an ARC released forOdd Is On Our Side. I can assume, as in most cases, the page count is the same as the trade release but I’d like to get a confirmation of that from someone who owns a copy.
Update:
I have confirmed that the ARC has the same page count as the trade release.

Does your Odd Apocalypse have a sticker?

August 4, 2012

I just got back from Barnes & Noble and now own two copies of the trade hardcover edition of Odd Apocalypse. Why? Well, their copies had stickers on the covers that the one I purchased from Amazon.com didn’t. Here’s a photo of the two followed by a zoom-in on the sticker in question.

What the Night Knows on the bargain shelf

August 2, 2012

Just got back from my local Barnes & Noble and it looks like the trade hardcover edition of What the Night Knows has hit the remainder pile for just $6.98.  A good price if you’re looking for this edition.

This week's releases

August 2, 2012

I still haven’t received my copies of the MP3-CD nor the large print book club edition of Odd Apocalypse, but otherwise here’s a photo of the book that have been released in the past week.

Odd Apocalypse Augmented Reality Viewer

August 1, 2012

Did you know that there’s a cool augmented reality trick you can perform with the cover of Off Apocalypse. You’ll need an iPhone or Android device with the Dean Koontz app or a computer with a built-in Webcam. (I was unsuccessful getting it to work with a USB Webcam.) However, if you find yourself in the situation where you’re unable or unwilling to try this out, just check out this YouTube video I created earlier today.

Reaching out to Charnel House

July 21, 2012

Just as a small update I just sent out an e-mail to Joe Stefko @ Charnel House asking for his assistance in filling in the details I’m missing about some of his details. If anyone knows Mr. Stefko and would be willing to encourage his assistance I’d greatly appreciate it.

Spring 2005 issue of Useless News

July 11, 2012

I seem to be lacking the Spring 2005 issue of Useless News. Anyone care to send me a scanned copy?

Needed: Barnes & Noble Reading Group

July 10, 2012

The Holidays 2006 issue of Useless News states the following:

“Dean participated in a Barnes & Noble reading group for THE HUSBAND. These were a few of the more interesting exchanges, which have been adapted for an installment of “TEN QUESTIONS” on out site.

Does anyone have any information about this online event? Date, original URL, text archive, etc.

Happy birthday Dean!

July 9, 2012

Dean turns 67 today. Here’s wishing him a happy birthday!

Needed: First Headline (UK) edition of Darkfall

July 8, 2012

Long-time Koontz collectors are generally aware that from it’s original release in 1984 Darkfall was known as Darkness Comes in the UK. Why? I have no idea. However Dean’s latest batch of notes pointed out something I’d missed. The UK publisher of Darkness Comes, Headline finaly brought itself in line with the US publisher and changed the title to Darkfall. So, here’s the thing. I keep trying to order a copy through third-party sellers on Amazon and they keep sending me copies of Darkness Comes instead of Darkfall, regardless of the fact that Darkfall is what’s shown in the listing. Even if I was to get my hands on a copy, there’s no promise that it’ll be the first printing/edition under the Darkfall title and I can’t even tell if it’s a mass market or trade paperback. So, does anyone have one of the first printing/editions of Headline’s Darkfall? If so, please leave a comment as I’d like to get the proper information listed in the book.
Update 12/18/12:
It does look like that on November 22, 2012 Headline did release an eBook edition titled Darkfall and I have added it to the manuscript as one of the very few eBooks that will be included. However, I have still yet to locate a print UK edition under this title.
