Dean Speaks Out Against Bullying
October 11, 2012
The themes of good and evil in ODDKINS are reminiscent of schoolyard bullies harassing younger or kinder children. In this video recognizing Bullying Prevention Month, Dean discusses his encounter with a child being bullied.

Odd Interlude paperback cover art released
September 25, 2012
Amazon is now showing the cover art for the premium paperback release of Odd Interlude. It’s also listing a non-discounted price of just $7.90. I didn’t think the publisher could justify a $9.99 cover price for a book of this length, but that price is not what I expected.
Between birth and burial…
September 25, 2012
“Between birth and burial, we find ourselves in a comedy of mysteries. And if you don’t think life’s a comedy—well, friend, you might as well hurry along to that burial. The rest of us need people with whom we can laugh.”
-Odd Thomas, in Odd Apocalypse
Get "The Black Pumpkin" for just $12.98
September 22, 2012
I’m pretty sure I blogged about this last year but I just saw it again so I figured it was worth the mention for newer readers.
Originally published as October Dreams in various editions by Cemetery Dance, the Barnes & Noble store imprint has republished the Halloween anthology as Halloween Horrors at the bargain price of $12.98. Why I mention it here is that it does contain Dean’s story “The Black Pumpkin”.
Look for it in the bargain books section of your local Barnes & Noble. (In mine it was displayed on a Halloween-theme end-cap.) However, the copies I saw last night were all second printings so if you’re someone who needs a first printing, good luck.
Frankenstein
September 15, 2012
Being the completeist that I am, I actually own all four editions of King’s Wayy Press’ Frankenstein for which Dean wrote the Introduction. Cemetery Dance currently has copies of the Regal edition for just $175. I’ve got to say, that these are gorgeous books!

I’ve got a bunch of news about the novella The Moonlit Mind:

- The UK paperback edition from Harper does not contain The Moonlit Mind.
- Brilliance Audio will be releasing an unabridged audio version in both Audio CD and MP3-CD formats on 27 November 2012.
- Charnel House will be issuing The Moonlit Mind in both a 1000-copy numbered, and a 26-copy lettered hardcover editions in November. (If you have to ask the price you can’t afford it 😉 However, they are offering discounts if you order and pay before October 1st.)

Audible Live: Chat with Dean Koontz
August 18, 2012
Here’s one from the archives. Back in December 2009 Dean did an online chat on Facebook titled: “Audible LIVE: Chat with Dean Koontz“. The Facebook page says there was/would be a video available but if it was posted it’s not there anymore. However, I did find it over on Ustream so here it is:
Dean on the Laura Ingraham Show
August 17, 2012
Here’s my recording of Dean’s Recent interview on The Laura Ingraham show. I don’t want to get into politics on this blog but if you have a low tolerance for folks who believe healthcare reform is leading to death panels, you’ll probably want to skip listening to this one.

Oddkins eBook
August 16, 2012
Looks like Oddkins is coming out at an eBook on September 4th. (So far I can only find a listing for the Kindle version.)
This might also be a good place to mention that the Collector’s Guide will not be including eBook editions unless they’re somehow unique. For example the recent “eBook only” originals such as Odd Interlude.
Archiving the Odd Apocalypse countdown widget

Since Odd Apocalypse is now out there’s no reason to have it in the sidebar anymore. So, I’m putting it in this post for archival purposes.

Found: Page count for the ARC of Odd Is On Our Side
August 4, 2012
Just found out there was an ARC released forOdd Is On Our Side. I can assume, as in most cases, the page count is the same as the trade release but I’d like to get a confirmation of that from someone who owns a copy.
Update:
I have confirmed that the ARC has the same page count as the trade release.
