Don’t forget though, that all of these titles have the same introduction. So, if you’ve already bought one of them just for Dean’s contribution, and you’re not a completist, you don’t need to by the others.

Anna gets in on the act

My fellow Dean Koontz collector Noah just pointed out to me that Center Street will be publishing ASK ANNA: Advice for the Furry and Forlorn, on 28 October 2014 and that it’s available for pre-order on Amazon.com right now.

My dad, Dean Koontz, is a writer, as you might be aware. For years his first golden retriever, Trixie, also wrote books, which sometimes made the best-seller list. I vowed never to be a writer.

I barely have enough time for all the belly rubs, ball chasing, bird chasing, tug-of-war, and posing cutely that is required of me as a golden retriever, not to mention all of my non-professional interests, such as the new translation of Proust that I have undertaken, and learning to pilot a hot-air balloon.
Nevertheless, I have written a book of advice for dogs. It’s not a matter of ego, which anyone who knows a golden retriever will attest. It’s not about money, because all the earnings I receive from ASK ANNA will be given to Canine Companions for Independence, which provides assistance dogs for people with disabilities. What it’s about is giving back to my community–which I feel obliged to do especially because of all the park grass I’ve ruined with little round brown spots.

It looks like there’s a new and very interesting audio release coming out this fall: Wilderness and Other Stories.

Strange Highways on CD & MP3-CD

Both the CD and MP3-CD editions are being released on March 11th and each have a list price of $14.99. The description (below) implies that the content is just the novella “Strange Highways” and not the complete Strange Highways collection with many additional short stories. I’ll confirm this when I receive my copy on Tuesday.

Joey Shannon, an alcoholic whose life has been going nowhere for 20 years, returns to his hometown for the funeral of his father. As he leaves town, he gets a mysterious second chance to relive the night in 1975 when his life began its downward spiral: to both literally and figuratively take the road that he didn’t originally take. I have these two items in my collection. Each measures about 8.5″ x 5.5″, are printed are very nice textured paper and signed in black ink. I have no idea as to what purpose they served or their source. If you know anything about these please leave a comment.

Looks like a 3-in-1 CD set is coming out titled the “Dean Koontz Thriller Novella Collection” containing Darkness Under the Sun, Demon Seed, The Moonlit Mind from Brilliance on March 25. An interesting choice of a line-up I must say. Amazon currently has it available for pre-order for $11.02. No cover are yet though.

The wait is over for all you Odd Thomas fans! The Odd Thomas movie is On Demand now and will be available for rent on iTunes and Amazon NEXT WEEK, 2/11/14! You can pre-order the movie beginning on 2/25/14, and the DVD, BluRay, and Digital Download will release on 3/25/14. Want to see Odd on the big screen? There will also be a limited theatrical release on 2/28/14 in 10 markets, including NY & LA. More to come!
