I was expecting another POD title to appear before today but it didn’t make it so this week just the new POD of Demon Seed, the new short story sequel, and a random Japanese edition.

Happy Fourth of July

No updates today but a bunch on deck for next week. Go outside, grill some burgers, and watch some (professional) fireworks.

This week I’ve added a neat little promo item, a new newsletter, and finally (for a price I was willing to pay,) filled in one more significant hole in my collection with the arrival of Anything for Joe.

Another busy week. Just one new item this time around. But, since it’s another print-on-demand edition be sure to check out the note about the page headers. The plot thickens…

I’ve got a vacation coming up and I’ll be completely offline most of that time. So, please don’t expect any more updates for at least two weeks. Thanks.

If there’s no other proof as to me being a completist, it’s the fact that I spent money on an ebook “unmasking Dean Koontz´ [sic] prophecy.” Please spare yourself from this drivel.

Plenty of new items this week ranging from 1969 to 2022. And, in site news, Appendix G was getting too large for WordPress to handle properly, so I’ve split it into two: G(1), which covers 1969-1999, and G(2), which covers 2000-present. It’s not the most elegant solution, but it was the best one I could come up with.

A day early because I have to work the day job tomorrow. However, I have a four-day weekend coming up so looking forward to getting back to those zines.

This week’s biggest news is that I’m starting to dive back into fanzine content again. As I’ve explained before, this stuff is complicated due to many factors, mostly due to the cross-references between issues regarding letters, responses, and the responses to responses. This week I started focusing on SF Opinion, the fanzine that Dean published in the late 60s. For now, there are just placeholder pages. Over the coming weeks and months, I’ll be filling in the issues and adding the individual content entries. I’d love to get one done per week, but no promises. (If you’re a Vaughn Bodē fan, you’re gonna want to check these out.)

Forever Dogs by Tricia Spencer

Last week was super weird when it came to my day job’s schedule, taking up much of the time I set aside to get some work done here. This coming week is weird too but in very different ways. Unfortunately, I don’t know if that’ll help or hinder my work here. So, no promises.

  • Forever Dogs by Tricia Spencer to Appendix D
  • Updated gutter code and DJ text variation information for the Leigh Nichols Shadowfires BCE.

What’s New & Updated February 28, 2022

February 28, 2022

My long weekend turned into a “things need to get fixed so get them fixed” weekend. I’ll just mention the $500 repair to our refrigerator and not go any further. As a result, there are still a bunch of updates but not nearly as many as I’d hoped.

  • Updated Bliss to You leash photo
  • Updated Chase UK HC image
  • Put the Odd Hours releases into proper order and added an image for the bonus MP3-CD audiobook edition
  • A list of “errors” that readers have found in Quicksilver

As for next weekend, I’ll be out of town for a business trip so please don’t expect an update next Monday.

Most new things are relatively easy to add to the site. Then there are the times that someone notices that there are at least four different states to, of all things, a book club edition. There would have been more updates this week but I spent way more time than expected on that one particular entry.

Quicksilver’s shiny cover makes it basically impossible to scan, so this entry gets a photo instead. The reflection of room colors still annoys me though.

  • Quicksilver trade hardcover cover, details, and additional promotional images
  • Bliss to You promotional dog leash photo
  • The Long Leash Podcast #20 Dean Koontz: Best-Selling Author and Massive Dog Lover to Appendix B
  • Financial Times interview (January 2022) to Appendix B

So Michael, why isn’t this item on the site yet? Great question. Well, I have a day job with a daily 2-hour commute so that definitely doesn’t help. Then, there’s just the overwhelming amount of material “in the queue.” Here’s a screenshot of just the “Koontz to Deal With” folder on my desktop. (Which isn’t all of it as I couldn’t get a scrolling screenshot of Windows folder…)

And then there are the paper files. I’ll spare you that description.

So, with that here’s this week’s updates.
